The principal peaks of the western portion of the great Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Modi Khola knifes its way south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley, the domain of the Gurungs. The middle and upper portions of Modi Khola offer some of the best short trekking routes in Nepal, and the valley is located so that these treks can be easily combined with treks into the Kali Gandaki region to the west.In spite of the great heights of the surrounding peaks and ice walls, the valley floor between 12,000 and 14,000 ft. can provide comfortable camping spots in good weather.

It would be good, if can allow 14 days holiday for Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We do require 12 days for trekking and we need two more days an extra for arrival in Nepal and departure from Nepal so altogether it requires minimum 14 days time for Nepal. However, if you would not allow 14 days time, we can design an itinerary according to your desire and duration of your holiday. Please, let us know.

Note : We organize both Individual and Group Treks. But if any one individuals or small group wants to join with other group then please see our Fixed Date Departure and do inquiry with us. But some time due to excessive number of people in fix date departure we may not join you too.

THE ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY with Angel Tours and Trekking Nepal
Located within the Annapurna Conservation Area, the Annapurna Sanctuary trek offers both incredible mountain views and a chance to travel through scenic lowland villages. The bulk of the sanctuary is a gigantic glacier surrounded by 10 towering peaks each reaching above the height of 20,000ft forming an amphitheatre like structure. This trek offers the opportunity to experience the majesty of the Himalayas while staying at altitudes below 14,000ft. There will be several days spent in the Sanctuary, including trips to the Annapurna and Machhapuchhare Base Camps.
From Kathmandu you will board a bus to Pokhara for an overnight stay. The actual trek will start from a place called Phedi ("the bottom of Hill’s). From Phedi you will follow a ridge of Dhampus to reach the quaint mountain village.
From here you can get the first glimpse of Machhapuchhare and Annapurna (26,538ft). On the section of the trek below Chomrong you will walk through over hills, through villages of the area, and small lush forests on the way to Machhapuchhare Base Camp (12,201 ft/22,937ft). Spend 2 nights in Machhapuchhare Base Camp (12,201 ft). The 22,937ft high "Fish Tail Peak" of Machhapuchhare is considered one of the most beautiful mountains on Earth. From here it is on to the Annapurna Base Camp (13,431), site of Chris Bonington’s successful 1970 summit attempt. You can visit ancient Gurung and Magar villages on the Ghorepani Ridge, looking down towards the cascading Kaligandaki River and the deep gorge, one of the deepest in the world, it has carved out. After the magnificent splendour of the sunrise from Poon Hill you will proceed to Tikendhunga walking down through colourful Rhododendron forests, villages and terraced hills. The trek ends with a short drive to Pokhara.

Annapurna Circuit is truly an extraordinary part of Nepal. The trek takes you from 1,500 ft/400 m to 18,000 feet/5,400 m and back. While on this trek you will meet ten different ethnic groups and pass through four different climate zones.
There is also a vast contrast in landscape and vegetation, and houses some of the most exotic flora & fauna and magnificent mountain scenery from any angle. You will also have a chance to walk through through quaint lowland villages, lush subtropical forests and the remote Manang region resembling the medieval era. Little wonder why this continues to be the most favoured trekking region in Nepal and perhaps in the world. Although this is the most popular trek in Nepal, be assured, as with all our trips, we always endeavour to choose secluded campsites away from the usual tourist areas.
Your efforts will be rewarded with the completion of this fantastic trek around the entire Annapurna massif. You will also make your way up to the Throng La pass at 5,416m, and cross down into another valley. The colours, landscape, and terrain are almost like those of Tibet. While on this trek you will be walking amongst the highest mountain peaks in the world. The trek while passing along the Kali Gandaki reveals the world’s deepest gorge and circle all the way down the other side of the valley and back into scattered lowland settlements and completing the circuit. All this will definitely leave you inspired, with a real sense of achievement. A relaxed night and day await you in the tranquil Lakeside town of Pokhara before returning to Kathmandu.
This trek starts from the small hillside town of Besisahar. The route then follows the entire length of the gorge up to Dharapani while exploring forests and villages and watching the mighty river cascading down the mountain. Beyond Dharapani you will finally enter the Himalayan valley. This part of your trek is one of the most beautiful; both sides of the path are watched over by snow-clad mountains. The southern part reveals the Annapurna range while at the north you can see the Manaslu range and the Manang valley nestles between the giants. At Manang you will have a day of rest and to get acclimatized to higher altitudes. This area is populated with Gurung people, a small community of Nepal by size of population. The next two days are challenging because of the crossing of Thorong La (5416m. /17760ft). The hard climb is rewarded with the welcoming temple of Muktinath (3843m). The descent starts beyond this point as you walk back down towards the Kaligandaki River and back up to the hot springs at Tatopani. A day of rest is in order at this amazing natural wonder. Another two days are required to reach Ghorepani (2834m. / 9295ft.). From here you will descend all the way down to Birethanti where our trek ends and continues to the serene lakeside town of Pokhara.
